Today's report is about the extreme weather that was seen in the United States last year. What types of weather were seen? Why was it a remarkable year? What did it cost in terms of economic and other losses? What were the causes? How does the United States intend to deal with such events in the future? The first exercise prepares you for some of the vocabulary you will hear. Spend as long as you need on the listening exercise, then try to complete some sentences using verbs that were used in the report.
