What is in Cigarette Smoke?

Everybody agrees that tobacco smoke is bad for you. But what is really in the smoke? Can the effects of smoke be reduced? Listen to find out.
The first activity lists most of the words from this lesson's glossary (like 'lungs' and 'tar'). Decide which words correspond to the definitions. After that spend plenty of time on the While you Listen activity. Following that you read an imaginary conversation between a scientist and a smoker. Do you think the smoker will stop? Complete the conversation with words from the report (such as 'kill' and 'bodies').
As this is a Special English report, we rate the lesson as easy.
